Start date will be on July 1, 2023.School Business Manager Job Description:DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The School Business Manager is responsible for directing, coordinating, and performing a variety of business functions and account keeping activities in a school district including overseeing through unit heads, the building and grounds maintenance, and custodial activities. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Superintendent of Schools in accordance with pertinent laws and school district policies, with leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment in carrying out the work. Supervision is exercised over the work of business office and other assigned staff. The incumbent does related work as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either: A. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree including or supplemented by 24 semester credit hours in accounting, business education, or business administration; or B. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college with an Associate’s Degree in accounting, business administration, or closely related field and two years of experience in school business office functions, including accounting, budgeting and/or treasurer experience; or C. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and four years of experience in school business office functions, including accounting, budgeting and/or treasurer experience; or D. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of A and B above.
