The Florida Union Free School District anticipates an opening for School Counselor. This full-time, probationary tenure-track position would begin on or about September 1, 2023. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:The School Counselor is responsible for providing an integrated network of student support services to help students succeed in school. The School Counselor utilizes their clinical skills to improve the student’s social and emotional functioning fostering learning, personal growth, attainment of competence and confidence. The School Counselor functions as part of the Florida UFSD pupil services team and works collaboratively with the students, families, faculty, administrators and community-based supports and works to eliminate obstacles that are interfering with the student’s ability to learn. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Master’s degree in counseling from an accredited universityValid New York State Certification as a School CounselorPreferred: Prior school experience
