The Florida Union Free School District is seeking a Technology Teacher. This full-time, probationary tenure-track position would begin on September 1, 2022. Applications will be accepted until position is filled.Minimum Educational Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited University or CollegeNYS Certified Technology Education TeacherAdditional Requirements:Background in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or related fieldsExperience utilizing CAD Design software as well as CNC programing and operationsExtensive experience in the proper use of commercial woodworking and metalworking equipmentProficient in all aspects of Shop Safety including the development and facilitation of shop safety lessons/trainingsExperience leading project based instruction with the focus on the students, developing their problem solving skills and craftsmanshipThe ability to recognize the improvements in technology and can adapt old shop techniques with future STEAM based principlesHave strong written and oral communication skillsCandidate should be able to clearly demonstrate instruction both in the classroom learning environment as well as the practical shop environment. Candidate should possess a significant attention to detail, be self-motivated and enthusiastic with an aptitude for collaboration with colleagues, as well as the ability to inspire and engage studentsCandidate should have the ability to recognize shop / classroom deficiencies and make suggestions for improvementsCandidate should be able to recognize unsafe and damaged equipment and take proper actions to remedyCandidate must develop projects within the curriculum and provide planning for material acquisition in collaboration with supervisors and budgetary personnel
