Responsibilities:Provide IEP and general education counselingConsult with teachers and staff regarding student progress to determine appropriate interventions for academic, behavioral and social-emotional concernsKindergarten Screening Coordinator (meet with parents, provide resources to parents, score screenings, send parent letters with screening results)Conduct psychoeducational and behavioral evaluations to determine the need for special education services and/or appropriate interventionsConduct and coordinate Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention PlansCoordinate the building-wide Character Education ProgramProvide weekly Social Skills (whole group for 12:1:1 program) Requirements:Member of the Committee on Special EducationMember of Response to Intervention TeamMember of MTSS Team (to utilize data-based decision making to help determine appropriate interventions for academic, behavioral, and social emotional concerns)Member of Building and District level SEL teams (to promote a positive school culture) Required Training:Cognition/MemoryLearning styles of students/developmental growth patternsAssessment of: Psychoeducational, academic, behavioral, processingData Collection/analysis of academic progressAcademic/learning interventionsInstructional support for teachers/service providersReferral processesSpecial Education classifications, disabilities, neurodivergent disordersAssessment of diverse learning needs of students with and without disabilitiesProvide culturally responsive educational services to students from diverse backgrounds (ELL, LD, etc…)Generate and interpret useful student data to assist with the learning/educational processConduct, write and manage Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans Lead Activities:4th Grade Girl Power Lunch Group2nd Grade Diversity Lunch Group (all second grade students)Coordinate Unity Day Activities Salary listed is Step 1 and negotiable on experience
