Eastport South Manor Central School District is looking for an Assistant Director of Special Education Position for the 2023-2024 school year.The duties of the new position would include the following:Directly supervise all related service providersAssume responsibility for all the out-of-district student case management Chair all out-of-district student CSE meetings and Annual ReviewsConduct yearly, on-site observations for all the out-of-district studentsServe as the district Transition CoordinatorChair all 504 meetings K-12Share the required responsibility of all special education staff observations with the Director of Special EducationSupport the Director of Special Education in other tasks as needed Qualifications:Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university Valid New York State District Administration Certification (SDA or SDL)At least three years’ successful experience in public school administration At least five years’ experience in Special EducationAbility to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relations with students, parents, and staffUnderstanding the needs of multicultural students Knowledge and experience with chairing CSE and 504 meetings Serve as the district Transition CoordinatorExperience with developing and finalizing 504s and IEPs Familiarity with out-of-district placements Experience facilitating professional development Knowledge of SEL and Mental Health programs and services Understanding of developing and maintaining a department budget and grant
