POSITION: Practical Nurse Instructor (FT) SITE/BUILDING: Sayville Adult Education Center/Various Clinical Sites LOCATION: Suffolk County, New York QUALIFICATIONS:Has or is eligible for New York State Practical Nursing Teaching CertificationCurrent New York State License as a Registered NurseBachelor degree in NursingFour (4) years of Nursing experienceTeaching experience is a plus but not requiredDemonstrate commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment RESPONSIBILITIES:Continuously engage with myriad professional and self-improvement practicesEngage adult learners and conduct classroom and clinical instructionDesign and carry-out lesson plans that recognize students’ abilities and learning stylesStrong oral and written communication skills, as well as, excellent customer services skillsProvide ongoing student advertisement and academic counselingPrepares test items for examination, supervises and evaluates test resultsMaintains students recordsParticipates in the development and evaluation of program curriculumParticipates in the formation and implementation of the program philosophy and objectivesEvaluates student progressEvaluates student patient care according to established criteriaWhile in a clinical setting, interprets hospital (facility) policy to studentsCooperates with head nurse or team leader to carry out medical orders of patients assigned to students and the development of nursing care plansCooperates with head nurse or designated personnel in selecting and planning students’ assignmentsOrients students to clinical areasSupervises and evaluates nursing care provided by the studentsConducts planned clinical conferences and classes START DATE: September 6, 2023 MINIMUM STARTING SALARY: $52.11/hour
