POSITION: Academic Teacher–Special Education (FT) SITE/BUILDING: Various LOCATION: Suffolk County, New York QUALIFICATIONS:Appropriate NYS Certification, Grades 7-12 and SWDDual or multiple certification preferred (in ELA, Mathematics, and/or Sciences)Minimum of three (3) years teaching experienceDeep knowledge of best instructional practices to support technical studentsExperience in instructional coaching role and/or delivering professional developmentDemonstrate commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment RESPONSIBILITIES:The primary function of this position is to support high quality instructional delivery to students within secondary career and technical education programs that offer workforce pathways. This support is provided via collaboration with CTE instructors, including modeling instruction, collaborative planning and instructional coaching.The successful candidate will also support CTE programs by periodically delivering in-service professional development to fellow instructors, participating as a member of the academic team, and providing input as a member of internal self-study teams. START DATE: September 1, 2023 SALARY: $56,659* * Minimum starting salary rates are established per 2022-2023 Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs). 2023-2024 compensation rates will follow CBAs when available.
