East Rockaway School District Personnel Office 443 Ocean Avenue East Rockaway, NY 11518 Mathematics Teacher – Leave Replacement, 7-12 (Fall 2026 Semester) The East Rockaway School District is anticipating an opening for a leave replacement mathematics teacher at the secondary level. The anticipated start and end dates for this position are August 31, 2026 through January 22, 2027. About East Rockaway UFSD The East Rockaway School District is located in Nassau County, NY. The district is home to over 1,100 students from grades Pre-K through 12. The district is seeking a motivated individual who meets the following qualifications: New York State Teacher Certification: Mathematics 7-12 Certificate (Initial, Professional) or equivalent. Additional certification or content area extensions preferred. Experience: We welcome applications from individuals at all levels of experience. The ideal candidate will also possess the following qualities: Knowledge of New York State Mathematics Learning Standards Strong preference for knowledge of Geometry standards Understanding of effective classroom management techniques Willingness to participate in extra-curricular activities The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities, which are subject to change: Teach five class periods throughout the school day Additional responsibilities include a daily professional duty period The East Rockaway School District offers a competitive salary and benefits package, which is established in the East Rockaway Teacher’s Association Contract for the 2026-27 school year.
