The district is seeking a motivated individual who meets the following qualifications: New York State Teacher Certification: Music Education K-12Experience: We welcome applications from individuals at all levels of experience; teaching at the middle and/or high school preferred; working with special needs desirable.Familiarity with double reeds desirable.Familiarity with preparing soloists and ensembles for NYSSMA adjudication.Familiarity with a variety of recommended instructional practicesStrong knowledge of technology and its integration in the music classroom. The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities, which are subject to change: Ability to deliver high quality instruction in instrumental class settings.Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities.Applicants should be prepared to audition on their major instrument. The East Rockaway School District offers a competitive salary and benefits package, which is established in the East Rockaway Teacher’s Association Contract for the 2024-25 school year.
