Anticipated Opening – World Language Teacher (Spanish) The East Rockaway School District is anticipating an open probationary teaching position for a Spanish teacher in the World Language department. About East Rockaway UFSD The East Rockaway School District is located in Nassau County, NY. The district is home to over 1,100 students from grades Pre-K through 12. The district is seeking a motivated individual who meets the following qualifications: New York State Teacher Certification: Spanish 7-12 Certificate (Initial, Professional) or equivalent Experience: We welcome applications from individuals at all levels of experience. The ideal candidate will also possess the following qualities: Knowledge of New York State Standards for World Languages Content knowledge for Spanish coursework across middle school and high school curricula Understanding of effective classroom management techniques Familiarity with Infinite Campus, Frontline, and Parent Square Willingness to participate in extra-curricular activities The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities, which are subject to change: Teach five courses throughout the nine-period school day, including: 3 Middle School Sections 2 High School Sections Additional responsibilities include a daily professional duty period The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities, which are subject to change: Teach five courses throughout the nine-period school day, including: 3 Middle School Sections 2 High School Sections Additional responsibilities include a daily duty period The East Rockaway School District offers a competitive salary and benefits package, which is established in the East Rockaway Teacher’s Association Contract for the 2024-25 school year.
