Position Information: Advise High School Juniors and Seniors who qualify for and help earn New York State Seal of Biliteracy at graduation. The responsibilities of the Seal of Biliteracy Advisor include, but are not limited to: Required Meetings: Attend all NYSSB MLE meetings (dates to be determined) Attend all Seal of Biliteracy monthly meetings with their Lead Advisor Meet with student candidates monthly from October through February to complete student deliverables Ensure Completion of Program Requirements and Deliverables: Manage and monitor NYSSB Google Sheet, entering and updating student participation and progress data. Use the NYSSB data dashboard in Ellevation to monitor completion of program requirements, identify students needing additional support, and inform follow-up with NYSSB lead advisors, school administrators, and the MLE Dept. Create, implement, and monitor a timeline, in which the student candidates must meet the New York State Education Department's criteria for demonstrating proficiency in English and a World Language Guide students on methods of research Meet with student candidates weekly from January through March, to prepare projects and presentations Maintain a monthly progress log for each student candidate in a shared digital folder accessible to MLE administrators, NYSSB lead advisors, and designated school administrators. Monitor progress and ensure that all student candidates complete the requirements for successful attainment of the NYS Seal of Biliteracy program Works closely with the Lead Advisor to collect and mainatain all student work folders and required forms Along with the Lead Advisor, serve on the presentation committee, schedule and attend student presentations Hours: $48 per hour not to exceed 40 hours (direct work with students) $35 per hour not to exceed 15 hours (direct work with students) Dates: October 2026 thru June 2027 Application Deadline: Sepetember 4th, 2026 All interested candidates must email a letter of interest to: Ms. Xiomara Gonzalez will contact selected candidates for an interview.
