We proudly serve a diverse student population and are dedicated to ensuring our multilingual learners receive high-quality language instruction that promotes academic achievement and linguistic proficiency.Position Overview:We are seeking highly motivated and dedicated ENL Teachers (K-12) to join our district and support our growing population of English Language Learners (ELLs). The ENL Teacher will provide English language instruction, collaborate with general education teachers, and implement research-based instructional strategies to help students develop English proficiency while achieving academic success.Key Responsibilities:Provide direct English language instruction in listening, speaking, reading, and writing to students at various proficiency levels.Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans that align with New York State Next Generation Learning Standards and NYS English as a Second Language Achievement Test (NYSESLAT) expectations.Use a variety of instructional strategies, including sheltered instruction and co-teaching models, to support students in both ENL and content-area classrooms.Assess students’ language proficiency and academic progress using formal and informal assessments.Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and school administrators to provide inclusive and culturally responsive instruction.Advocate for multilingual learners and their families by fostering a welcoming and inclusive school environment.Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events.Qualifications:Required: New York State Certification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) (K-12).Experience working with diverse student populations, including multilingual learners, preferred.Strong knowledge of language acquisition theories and best practices for English language instruction.Ability to implement differentiated instruction strategies to meet the needs of students at different proficiency levels.Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.Bilingual skills (Spanish, Haitian Creole, or other languages) are a plus but not required.Salary & Benefits:Competitive salary based on ERCSD salary schedule.Comprehensive health and dental insurance.Retirement benefits through the New York State Teachers' Retirement System (NYSTRS).Professional development opportunities and mentorship programs.Application Process:Interested candidates should submit the following:A cover letter detailing their experience and interest in the position.A current resume.Copy of NYS certification(s).Two professional references with contact information.Apply online through OLAS (Online Application System for Educators) @ olasjobs.org
