Job Posting: Instructional Coordinator – STEM (Grades K–6)POSITION TITLE: Instructional Coordinator – STEM (Grades K–6)LOCATION: Districtwide – Elementary Schools (Grades K–6)APPLICATION DEADLINE: Open Until FilledSTART DATE: TBD POSITION OVERVIEW:The East Ramapo Central School District is seeking an innovative and equity-focused instructional leader to serve as the Instructional Coordinator for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Grades K–6. This district-level leadership position is responsible for strengthening STEM instruction across elementary schools, supporting the implementation of research-based teaching strategies, and fostering student engagement and achievement in STEM content areas.The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of K–6 science and mathematics curricula, hands-on and inquiry-based instruction, and effective integration of technology to support 21st-century learning. The coordinator will work closely with teachers, school leaders, and curriculum teams to drive instructional improvement and build capacity across classrooms.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Serve as a district leader and content expert in K–6 STEM education.Support the implementation of the NYS Next Generation Mathematics and Science Learning Standards.Collaborate with teachers and administrators to align curriculum, instruction, and assessment across STEM disciplines.Provide job-embedded coaching and modeling of STEM lessons, including project-based learning, inquiry strategies, and integration of digital tools.Lead data analysis efforts to inform instructional planning, interventions, and enrichment opportunities in math and science.Design and deliver professional development sessions on STEM instructional practices, interdisciplinary approaches, and the use of instructional technology.Research and recommend innovative, culturally responsive instructional materials and resources that enhance STEM learning.Support schools in implementing STEM-focused enrichment programs, clubs, and initiatives.Promote equity in STEM by ensuring all students, especially those from underrepresented groups, have access to high-quality instruction and learning opportunities.Collaborate with district and building leadership to develop and support STEM-related goals and initiatives.Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendents of Instruction. QUALIFICATIONS:Required:Valid New York State School District Leader (SDL) certificationValid NYS teaching certification in Elementary Education or a STEM-related fieldMinimum of five (5) years of successful classroom teaching experience in science, math, or STEM at the elementary levelDeep knowledge of STEM content, instructional strategies, and standards for grades K–6Experience providing instructional coaching or leading professional developmentExcellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skillsDemonstrated ability to foster innovation and equity in STEM educationPreferred:Experience in a district- or school-based instructional leadership roleFamiliarity with inquiry-based learning, engineering design practices, and interdisciplinary curriculumExperience with instructional technology and digital tools for STEM integrationBackground in culturally responsive STEM education or STEM equity initiativesAPPLICATION PROCEDURE: Interested applicants should apply through OLASjobs.org with a resume and cover letterThe East Ramapo Central School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to advancing equity and access in all instructional areas, including STEM.
