Job Posting: Academic Intervention Services (AIS) Teachers – MathematicsPosition Type: Full-Time (Elementary and Secondary Levels)Location: East Ramapo Central School DistrictStart Date: As soon as possibleApplication Deadline: Open until filledJob Summary:The East Ramapo Central School District is seeking dedicated and passionate Academic Intervention Services (AIS) Math Teachers to provide targeted mathematics support to students at the elementary and secondary levels. The ideal candidates will deliver supplemental instruction to students requiring additional support in developing foundational math skills, problem-solving strategies, and mathematical confidence. This role involves close collaboration with classroom teachers and support staff to design and implement effective, data-driven interventions that meet the diverse academic needs of our students.Responsibilities:Provide small-group and one-on-one math intervention sessions to students identified as needing additional academic support.Utilize data-driven instructional practices to address gaps in mathematical understanding.Conduct regular assessments—both formal and informal—to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and other interventionists to align support with classroom instruction.Implement research-based interventions that strengthen numeracy skills and promote mathematical thinking.Incorporate a range of instructional materials, including manipulatives and educational technology, to engage students in meaningful learning.Maintain open communication with parents and guardians to support learning beyond the classroom.Keep accurate documentation of student progress and actively participate in data team and student support meetings.Qualifications:Required Certification:New York State Certification in Childhood Education (Grades 1–6) orMathematics Certification (Grades 5–9 and/or 7–12 preferred for upper elementary and secondary assignments).Preferred experience in providing math intervention or teaching mathematics in school settings.Strong understanding of math intervention strategies, Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), and effective instructional practices.Ability to analyze assessment data to drive responsive instructional planning.Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on collaboration, communication, and problem-solving.Salary and Benefits:Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
