We seek an enthusiastic and skilled Art Teacher to join our team and inspire the next generation of artists.Position Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and innovative High School Art Teacher to provide engaging instruction in visual arts, promoting creativity, critical thinking, and artistic expression. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering curriculum that meets New York State Standards in Art Education, while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement an engaging visual arts curriculum aligned with state standards.Teach a variety of art techniques and mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, digital arts, and more.Foster an inclusive classroom environment where students from diverse backgrounds can express themselves through art.Encourage creative thinking, problem-solving, and personal expression through hands-on projects and collaborative work.Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support individual artistic growth.Maintain classroom materials and equipment, ensuring a safe and organized workspace.Participate in school events, art shows, and extracurricular activities related to the arts.Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support the overall educational mission of the school.Qualifications:New York State Certification in Visual Arts (required).Bachelor’s degree in Art Education or related field (Master’s preferred).Experience teaching art at the secondary level (preferred).Strong knowledge of various art techniques, tools, and mediums.Ability to inspire and engage students in creative thinking and artistic expression.Excellent communication and classroom management skills.Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.Application Process: Interested candidates should submit the following:A current resumeA cover letter outlining qualifications and teaching philosophyCopies of certificationsTwo Professional referencesDeadline to Apply: Open until filledSalary & Benefits: Salary is commensurate with experience and in accordance with the East Ramapo Central School District’s teacher salary schedule.
