Job Title: Interim High School Assistant Principal (Anticipated Vacancy)Location: East Ramapo School DistrictTerm: Immediate Start – June 30, 2025OverviewEast Ramapo School District is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and dedicated Interim High School Assistant Principal to join our leadership team. This is an exceptional opportunity to provide strong instructional leadership, foster a positive school culture, and support the academic and personal growth of our students during an interim period. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining high standards of excellence at our high school.Key ResponsibilitiesInstructional Leadership:Support and evaluate teaching staff, providing feedback and professional development opportunities.Collaborate with principals, teachers, and support staff to implement curriculum and instructional best practices.Student Support and Discipline:Develop and enforce school policies and procedures that promote a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.Address student behavior concerns in a proactive and constructive manner, ensuring adherence to district discipline policies.Administrative Duties:Assist with day-to-day school operations, including scheduling, event coordination, and communication with parents and community stakeholders.Contribute to data-driven decision-making processes by analyzing academic performance metrics and recommending strategies for improvement.Team Collaboration:Work closely with the school principal and leadership team to foster an environment of continuous improvement and professional growth.Participate in district-wide initiatives and committees as needed.Interim Leadership Transition:Ensure continuity of leadership and maintain stability during the interim period.Provide strategic input and support the search for a permanent candidate when applicable.Minimum QualificationsEducational Background:Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.Certification and Experience:Valid administrative or principal certification as required by New York State.A minimum of five years of teaching experience, with at least two years in an administrative or leadership role within a secondary school setting.Skills and Attributes:Proven ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of educators.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an aptitude for conflict resolution and team building.Demonstrated expertise in instructional leadership and school management best practices.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience as an Assistant Principal or in a similar leadership capacity in a high school setting.Familiarity with the East Ramapo School District’s culture, policies, and community.Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and high-achieving school environment.Term of AppointmentStart Date: ImmediateEnd Date: June 30, 2025This interim role is designed to ensure leadership continuity and uphold the high standards of academic and administrative excellence during the designated term.Application ProcessInterested candidates should submit the following:A cover letter outlining relevant experience and leadership philosophy.A current resume.Two professional references.Any additional documentation required by the East Ramapo School District.Submission Instructions: Please submit your application materials via OLASjobs.org by 3/7/25.East Ramapo School District is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering diversity and inclusion within our educational community.
