Job Title: Executive Director of GuidanceLocation: East Ramapo Central School District Position Type: Full-Time, Central Office Administration Reports To: Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and InstructionStart Date: ASAP or July 1, 2025Position Summary:The Executive Director of Guidance will lead and oversee the comprehensive guidance and counseling programs across all schools within the East Ramapo Central School District. This role involves strategic planning, program implementation, and management of resources to support students' academic, career, and social-emotional development. The Executive Director will work closely with school administrators, counselors, teachers, parents, and community organizations to ensure that each student receives the guidance and support necessary to achieve their potential.Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Program DevelopmentDevelop and implement a cohesive K-12 guidance and counseling program aligned with district goals and best practices.Lead the strategic planning for guidance services, incorporating innovative practices to improve student support.Set and evaluate program goals, ensuring alignment with state standards and district priorities.Counseling and Support ServicesSupervise and support school counselors to deliver effective academic, career, and social-emotional counseling services.Ensure the provision of responsive services to address student needs, including crisis intervention and mental health support.Promote and oversee programs that support student college and career readiness, including workshops, college fairs, and career exploration activities.Collaboration and CommunicationPartner with school leadership, teachers, and staff to integrate guidance services into the broader educational experience.Engage with parents, community organizations, and external agencies to extend support for students and families.Provide training and professional development for counseling staff to maintain high standards and remain current on best practices.Data Analysis and ReportingCollect and analyze data on student outcomes, attendance, academic performance, and other relevant metrics to assess program effectiveness.Prepare regular reports for district leadership on program outcomes, student needs, and resource requirements.Use data to refine and improve guidance services, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the student population.Administrative and ComplianceManage the guidance department budget, allocating resources efficiently to meet program needs.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to student guidance and counseling services.Develop and update district policies related to student support services, as necessary.Qualifications:Education: Master’s degree in School Counseling, Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.Certification: New York State School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA) certification required.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in school counseling or related field, including at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
