Position Title: High School Technology TeacherLocation: Spring Valley High SchoolApplication Deadline: October 4, 2024Start Date: October 7, 2024Position Overview: The East Ramapo Central School District is seeking an innovative and dedicated High School Technology Teacher to join our team of educators. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about preparing students for success in an ever-evolving technological world. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology education and the ability to inspire students to explore careers in technology, engineering, and related fields.Key Responsibilities:Plan and deliver engaging and hands-on technology lessons aligned with New York State Learning Standards.Teach courses such as Computer Science, Robotics, Digital Design, Engineering, and other technology-related subjects.Incorporate project-based learning and real-world applications to enhance student understanding and engagement.Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technology tools to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.Guide students in developing problem-solving skills, creativity, and critical thinking through technology and engineering projects.Foster a classroom environment that encourages exploration, collaboration, and innovation.Develop and implement assessments to evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and community partners to provide students with opportunities for hands-on learning and career exploration.Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in technology education.Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with parents and guardians.Qualifications:NYS Certification in Technology Education or related field.Strong knowledge of technology concepts, instructional strategies, and the ability to integrate technology into the curriculum.Experience working in a culturally and linguistically diverse educational setting is preferred.Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.Experience with programming, robotics, digital design, and/or engineering is a plus.Application Process:Interested candidates should submit the following:A cover letter highlighting your experience and qualifications.A current resume.Copies of relevant certifications.Three professional references.Please apply here online through olasjobs.orgSalary & Benefits: Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience, in accordance with the East Ramapo Central School District Teachers' Contract.About East Ramapo Central School District: The East Ramapo Central School District serves a diverse community of students in Rockland County, New York.
