Job Description: The District is seeking creative and passionate instructional leaders who possess the ability to motivate students to strive for academic excellence. Successful candidates will work in a fast-paced, challenging environment dedicated to the academic and social success of all students. Collaborative team players who have a desire to become part of a dynamic educational team are encouraged to apply. Required: New York State certification in Spanish 7-12, or experience teaching Spanish at the collegiate level, with the ability to obtain New York State certification. Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver classroom and course materials aligned with NYS World Language and ACTFL standards. Use a variety of instructional and presentation methods, including technology resources. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and lesson planning. Develop lesson plans and curricula based on the needs of individual learners. Provide opportunities for conversation and communication, including instruction in pronunciation and essential words and phrases. Teach writing and composition skills. Schedule and prepare students for oral and written examinations. Monitor student progress through assessments, grading, and written reports. Organize feedback sessions with students and parents, as applicable. Provide recommendations for continued learning and schedule intervention sessions for students who require additional support. Teach students about the cultures associated with the language, including festivals, traditional foods and dress, and social conventions.
