Position Title: Director of Physical Education, Health, and Athletics (Anticipated) Office: Curriculum & Instruction Department: Physical Education, Health, and Athletics Reports to: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Education/Certification:New York State administrative certification: School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA)New York State Teaching certification in Physical EducationExperience and Qualifications:5 or more years of teaching experience3 or more years of administrative experience preferredStrong character and integrityCulturally proficientFosters strong relationships with communityStrong technology skillsMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Supervise the K-12 physical education, health, and wellness programs, in accordance with the New York State Learning StandardsThe success of ALL studentsPromoting an open, inclusive environmentPhysical Education and Health Curriculum & innovative instructional practicesSupporting teachers and coaches to grow as professional educatorsProfessional learning communities and utilizing data to inform instructional practicesCoordination and innovation in the area of interscholastic athleticsClear communication with all stakeholdersTechnology use and integrationTeam building with the ability to motivate staff and studentsSchedule and oversee sports games within the leagueArrange travel logistics for all sports teams to attend away gamesHire and mentor coaches for all sports teams and manage the athletics departmentOversee staffing, conduct teacher observations, develop a budget, and other duties as assigned
