East Ramapo Central School District seeks to fill the position of Executive Director of Bilingual Education, ENL and World Languages with a dedicated and visionary leader who partners with school leaders and teachers (monolingual, bilingual, and ENL) to ensure that all in the educational community are equipped with the language acquisition strategies and program expectations to improve student outcomes.To lead, the Executive Director of Bilingual Education, ENL and World Languages: Manages and oversees the development, implementation, monitoring, and refinement of curriculum and instructional practices within the area of bilingual education, English as a New Language, and world language to ensure that all students meet and exceed the NYS Learning Standards and that services comply with Part 154 Regulations. Supervises department staff in all areas related to Spanish Language Bilingual Program, English as a New Language Program (ENL), and World Languages and support School Principals in the supervision of school-level department staff;Oversees the development and maintenance of written expectations for the department staff outlining all procedures related to identification, placement, data collection, reporting and other activities related to compliance;Delivers guidance and support when advising schools on how to appropriately schedule and provide services that are aligned to current research, ensure that ELLs attain proficiency in English and meet grade level academic standards and monitors implementation for accountability and compliance purposes;Budgets, orders and provides all appropriate materials necessary for the implementation of the English as a New Language (ENL) program, World Languages department, and Bilingual Education program in a timely fashion;Supervises department directors to provide opportunities (ie, department meetings, faculty meetings, PLCs etc) for effective professional learning that equip administrators, teachers, counselors, and other staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet student learning and language needs and to address the needs of the instructional program(s); Analyzes data regularly to determine effectiveness of ENL and Bilingual instruction and programming.Coordinates the administration of the testing programs-including training, scoring, and translations;Maintains communication on behalf of the district with NYSED and OBEWL to meet ELL-related program expectations;Carries out other duties designated by the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.Apply on olasjobs.org
