Location: Elwood John Glenn High School Effective: September 2026 Description: School Counseling (50%) Academic advising to ensure alignment with NYS graduation requirements and the emerging "Portrait of a Graduate" competencies. Provide individual and group counseling, as well as classroom lessons, to address students' mental health, social development, and post-secondary goals. Assist students with post-secondary applications, financial aid (FAFSA), and scholarship opportunities. Act as part of the school’s mental health team to support students. Work-Based Learning & Internship Coordination (50%) Assist with the oversight of graduation pathways that satisfy the Blue Ribbon Commission’s focus on Performance-Based Assessments and CTE endorsements. Develop and support the cultivation and maintenance of relationships with local businesses, non-profits, and trade unions to secure internship and job-shadowing sites. Oversee work-based learning and CTE internships Match students with opportunities that align with their career interests and monitor their progress. Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate "employability skills" into the general curriculum. Requirements: Current NYS certification as a School Guidance Counselor Work-Based Learning Programs Extension (Preferred) Compensation: In accordance with the contract between the District and the Elwood Teachers’ Alliance.
