Job Description: Dynamic and certified Physical Education Teacher will serve students in elementary grades. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes physical fitness, wellness, and health literacy. Position Overview: The Physical Education Teacher will be responsible for designing and delivering developmentally appropriate lessons that engage students in physical activity, promote lifelong health habits, and build students' knowledge of personal and community health. This educator will be a key member of the school’s instructional team, supporting the physical, social, and emotional well-being of all students. Duties include, but are not limited to: • Designing and implementing NYS standards-based instruction in Physical Education for students in grades K–6 • Promoting student fitness, wellness, nutrition, and personal safety through engaging and inclusive activities • Managing instructional time effectively and maintaining appropriate behavior and safety standards in all instructional settings (indoor and outdoor) • Collaborating with classroom teachers and support staff to integrate wellness initiatives and health education into the broader school community • Monitoring student progress through assessments, providing feedback, and maintaining accurate records • Participating in school-wide initiatives, faculty meetings, and professional development opportunities • Supporting a positive school climate by modeling respectful behavior, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyle choices Qualifications: • Valid New York State Certification in Physical Education (K–12) – Required • additional NYS Certification in Health Education – Preferred • Experience teaching Physical Education at the elementary level preferred • Strong classroom management and student engagement skills • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues • CPR/AED/First Aid certification – Preferred
