JOB DESCRIPTION: The Elementary Teacher for Grades 1-6 will create a dynamic and engaging learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth in all students. This educator will design and implement developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with New York State Learning Standards, addressing diverse learning needs while promoting a love of learning. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues to cultivate a supportive and inclusive classroom community that ensures every child reaches their fullest potential. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Grades 1-6 Elementary Teacher will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students during a critical stage in their educational journey. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching, strong instructional skills, and a commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students can thrive. DUTIES INCLUDED, BUT LIMITED TO: Developing and delivering engaging, standards-based lessons across core subjects such as English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including students with disabilities, English language learners, and gifted students. Assessing student progress using formative and summative assessments, and using data to inform instruction and support individualized learning goals. Creating a positive classroom environment that fosters respect, collaboration, and a sense of belonging for all students. Integrating technology and hands-on activities into lessons to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Collaborating with families to provide regular updates on student progress, share strategies for at-home support, and build strong partnerships. Implementing classroom management strategies that promote self-regulation, responsibility, and positive behavior. Maintaining accurate records of student performance and progress, and preparing required reports and documentation. Participating in professional learning opportunities to stay current with best practices in elementary education and continuously improve teaching effectiveness. Contributing to a positive school culture by working collaboratively with colleagues and participating in school-wide initiatives and events. QUALIFICATIONS: Valid NYS Childhood Education Certification required
