Elmsford Union Free School District is seeking a dedicated, student-centered Special Education Teacher for an Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) role at Alice E. Grady Elementary School. This is a long-term substitute position effective immediately through the end of June 2026. Position Overview Location: Alice E. Grady Elementary School Grade Level: 6th Grade Assignment Type: Long-Term Substitute (Full-Time) Duration: Immediate Start – June 2026 Setting: Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) Key Responsibilities Collaborative Teaching: Partner with a General Education teacher to co-plan and deliver instruction that meets the diverse needs of all learners in a 6th-grade classroom. IEP Implementation: Adapt and modify curriculum, assignments, and assessments in accordance with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Data-Driven Instruction: Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and use data to drive instructional decisions and small-group interventions. Classroom Culture: Foster an inclusive, supportive, and academically challenging environment where every student feels valued. Communication: Maintain proactive communication with parents, administrators, and the CSE (Committee on Special Education) team regarding student growth and needs. Required Qualifications Certification: New York State Certification in Students with Disabilities (Grades 1-6 or 5-9) is required. Experience: Previous experience in an ICT or Special Education setting is preferred; familiarity with 6th-grade curriculum standards is a plus. Skills: Strong understanding of various co-teaching models (e.g., station teaching, parallel teaching), differentiation strategies, and positive behavioral interventions.
