The Elmsford Union Free School District (EUFSD) is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to serve as Substitute School Monitors across its district buildings. This is an essential role focused on supporting a safe, orderly, and positive environment for all students and staff. Position OverviewSubstitute School Monitors work on an as-needed basis to cover absences and assist with the daily operations of the school environment. The primary focus is on supervising students to ensure their safety and compliance with school rules outside of the classroom setting. Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise students in various areas, including:Cafeterias/LunchroomsHallways and stairwellsPlaygrounds and outdoor areasSchool buses during loading and unloadingAssembly halls and study hallsMonitor student behavior and enforce school rules, reporting any incidents or concerns to appropriate school administrators immediately.Assist with directing the flow of student traffic during arrival, dismissal, and class changes.Maintain a high level of vigilance and situational awareness to prevent accidents, injuries, or conflicts.Support the overall school climate by promoting respect, responsibility, and cooperation among students.Follow all safety protocols and district procedures as directed by school administration. QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.Must be able to successfully complete the required fingerprinting and background check process for school district employees.Prior experience working with children or adolescents is preferred, but not required.Ability to walk, stand, and supervise for extended periods.Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effectively interacting with students, staff, and parents.Reliable and flexible with the ability to report to work on short notice.A commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding student and school matters.
