Evergreen Charter School is seeking a Special Education Leave Replacement Teacher for the Elementary School, (Kindergarten and First Grade). The mission of Evergreen Charter School (ECS) is to nurture the intellectual, physical and social development of children, through a comprehensive program that promotes academic excellence and prepares its students for success in school and in life. The Elementary School Special Education Leave Replacement Teacher responsibilities include, and are not limited to the following: · Know and understand students with special needs and what they may need for success. · Meeting, planning and working with classroom teachers. · Providing differentiated instruction to students with varied needs (both general and special need students). · Ensuring that classroom teachers understand the needs of students with IEPs and 504s, assisting teachers with planning and recommendations. · Ensuring Chapter 408 compliance. · Providing RTI/AIS services to all students (both general and special education students); · Ensuring students in their caseload are receiving the services and accommodations as indicated on their plan. Facilitating communication between the providers and the classroom teacher(s). · Communicating important dates and events (annual reviews, meetings, evaluations, etc.) to parents and guardians. · Meeting with classroom teachers to develop required school reports for the Committee on Special Education. · Helping to represent Evergreen Charter School during the meetings with the School District Committee on Special Education. · Participating in parent meetings alongside general education teachers to explain the interventions provided and progress. Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree is preferred. Qualifications: Valid New York State Certification in Special Education.
