Location to be determined. This is a 12–month, non-competitive position, subject to a 52-week probationary period. The assignment starts effective July 1, 2025. Internal candidates may apply for the position. Requests for transfer are subject to administrative review and approval.DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Under direct supervision, incumbents of this class perform routine cleaning duties. The work of a Cleaner is distinguished from Custodial Worker in that a person in this position is not required to perform minor repairs or complex maintenance duties. Supervision is not a responsibility of this class. Does related work as required. EXAMPLES OF WORK: (Illustrative Only) Sweeps and mops floors, corridors, and stairs;Vacuums floors, rugs, carpets; Washes windows and lavatory fixtures; Dusts woodwork, furniture, and other articles; Waxes floors and furniture; Replenishes lavatory supplies; Empties trash receptacles; Replaces light bulbs; Shovels snow; Set thermostats, as assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES: Familiarity with building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment; ability to use building cleaning supplies and equipment; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; thoroughness; dependability; ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the essential functions of the position; physical condition commensurate with the duties of the position.
