Anticipated Middle School STEAM Teacher Vacancy- ProbationaryTentative Start Date: TBDThe Edgemont School District is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of probationary STEAM teacher for grades 7 and 8. The ideal candidate is dedicated to interdisciplinary teaching, creative problem-solving, and student-centered learning experiences that connect real-world applications to the classroom. The duties and responsibilities of the STEAM teacher involve instruction directly related to STEAM, Computer Science and Design Thinking. Instruction and Integration: Demonstrate the ability to model, deliver, and craft rich student-centered learning experiences around Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math and Design Thinking.Demonstrate the ability to create and implement strategies for integrating STEAM experiences into Project Lead The Way curricula.Understand and be able to design, develop, assess, and manage STEAM learning experiences. Work in partnership with teachers and staff, modeling consistent effective teaching with technology, engagement, lesson plan design, use of technology, STEAM and online tools. Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of the connection between technology, computer science, and other fields of study. Leadership and Professional Growth: Complete all necessary Project Lead The Way certification courses applicable to classes being taught.Identify and apply educational and technology-related research and instructional design thinking principles in guiding the use of technology in education. Identify resources, plan, and design activities to support professional growth in learning technologies. Minimum Qualifications: NYS Technology Education (K-12), Computer Science (K-12) or Mathematics (7-12), Science certificate (7-12), Visual Arts (K-12) working toward Tech Ed or Comp Sci certificateAdvanced degree from an accredited college/university.
