Guidance Counselor - Leave ReplacementGreenvale School Grades 2-52025-2026At Greenvale School, we are dedicated to supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our learners. Greenvale is seeking a compassionate and skilled School Counselor to support our students. The ideal candidate will provide counseling services, implement social-emotional learning programs, and collaborate with teachers, families, and staff to promote a positive school climate. Leave replacement, beginning September 30 through February 1 at minimum.Responsibilities:Provide individual and small group counseling to support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs.Implement developmentally appropriate social-emotional learning (SEL) programs.Support students in developing self-regulation, coping strategies, and conflict resolution skills.Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate SEL strategies into the classroom.Conduct classroom lessons on topics such as emotional regulation, friendship skills, and problem-solving.Partner with families to provide guidance and resources for student success.Identify and address barriers to student learning, referring to outside support services when necessary.Assist with crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed.Contribute to a safe and inclusive school environment where all students can thrive.Qualifications:Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related fieldsStrong knowledge of child development, SEL, and behavioral intervention strategies.Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.NYSED certification: School Counselor.Requirements:NYSED certification: School Counselor.NYSED Fingerprint ClearanceEmployment Terms:Leave replacement, beginning September 30 through February 1 at minimumSalary range: $62,620 - $79,759 (prorated per diem at 1/200th) Step placement contingent upon prior related experience. *Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law §§305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES).
