Math Coach (K-1)/Tier III Intervention2025-2026Waverly SchoolWaverly Elementary is committed to fostering a strong mathematical foundation for our youngest learners. We believe in building confidence, curiosity, and a love for numbers through engaging and developmentally appropriate instruction. We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Math Coach to support our Kindergarten and 1st-grade teachers in implementing effective math instruction. The ideal candidate will collaborate with educators to enhance math curriculum, provide targeted interventions for students, and ensure best practices are being utilized in early math education.Responsibilities:Work closely with K-1 teachers to implement and refine math instructional strategies.Analyze student data to inform instruction and provide targeted support.Model effective math teaching practices in the classroom.Provide small group and one-on-one coaching for teachers to improve student outcomes.Develop engaging, hands-on math activities that align with curriculum standards.Support differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.Assist with professional development related to early math education.Collaborate with administrators and staff to enhance overall math instruction.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).Teaching certification with a focus on elementary education.Experience teaching or coaching early childhood or primary grade levels.Strong understanding of early numeracy development and best practices in math instruction.Excellent collaboration and communication skills.Why Join Waverly?Supportive school community focused on student growth.Professional development opportunities.Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners’ mathematical foundations.Requirements:Dual NYS certification preferred: Elementary/Childhood Education and MathNYSED Fingerprint Clearance*Employment Terms:10 month, full time probationary positionIn accordance with the Eastchester Teachers Association (ETA) negotiated salary schedule, range begins at $86,668, step placement contingent upon prior related experience. Internal transfers will maintain their step and salary placement.*Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law §§305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES).
