School Monitor, ProbationaryWaverly SchoolGrades K-1IMMEDIATE VACANCY2023-2024The Waverly School is seeking candidates for the position of a school monitor assigned to assist students in the classroom environment by helping with organization, focusing and redirection, travel to specials and behavior intervention. The monitor will actively supervise lunch and recess and assist in toileting. The successful candidate will work collaboratively, be willing to work with students and colleagues to ensure the safety of all children. Requirements:Ability to work effectively with early childhood aged school children with special needs;Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff;Ability to take oral and written directives;Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position;NYSED Fingerprint Clearance*Employment Terms:10 month, probationary position starting February 29, 2024Hours: 8:15 AM - 3:20 PM, with a 30 minute lunch, Monday - FridaySalary Range: $17.76 - $22.17 per hour*Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law §§305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES).
