Foreign Language Elementary School Teacher (FLES) - Spanish (Grades K-1), Probationary [2 vacancies]2023-2024 Waverly SchoolThe Eastchester School District will be implementing a new FLES program beginning in the 2023-2024 school year, starting with grades K-1. The goal of the program is to help students develop a functional proficiency in Spanish by focusing on speaking and listening skills as well as cultural learnings. We are seeking talented and experienced candidates, with a passion for teaching Spanish to early childhood/elementary aged students, to fill two probationary Foreign Language Elementary School (FLES) Teacher positions.Requirements: Dual NYS certification: Early Childhood/Elementary Education and Spanish NYSED Fingerprint Clearance*Employment Terms: 10 month, probationary position Salary range in accordance with the Eastchester Teachers Association (ETA) negotiated salary schedule.*Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law ยงยง305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES).
