Director of College, Career, Counseling Services, ProbationaryImmediate VacancyHigh School The Eastchester School District seeks an innovative leader of Secondary college, career, and counseling services. As a member of the District’s leadership team, the Director will supervise all 9 - 12 school counselors, and focus on the college and career success of graduating seniors. The Director should be thoroughly knowledgeable of the college placement and admissions process and have experience working with college Deans, Admissions Counselors and college requirements. The Director, who works collaboratively with school administrators, reports to the Superintendent of Schools and/or designee. The responsibilities of the Director include but are not limited to: I. College-Career Success for Graduating Seniors Serve as the district contact to the College Board.Oversee the Advanced Placement testing program and make recommendations for strengthening success and participation rates.Develop and lead a comprehensive PSAT, SAT, ACT testing program to improve student scores both within and outside the school day.Establish graduation senior success benchmarks and collect regular data to insure monitoring and progress. II. Supervise, evaluate 9 - 12 Counselors Evaluate and monitor secondary counselors to ensure consistency of programs, visits with counselors and four years of academic study and preparation designed toward a college career plan. III. Partner with Colleges on National, State, Local labels and BOCES/Career Services Providers Engage college partners, consultants etc. to ensure the District is meeting the benchmarks for college and career success for seniors.Conduct regular program reviews of the college, career, counseling program and make both budgetary and program recommendations for improvement. IV. Publish College and Career Information to parents, community, website Using all available district media, establish a regular communication program to update students, staff, parents and all stakeholders on a monthly timetable for the college and career services.Provide regular information on students’ college and career successes. V. Manage District Advisory Guidance Council Establish the agenda and meet regularly with the Districts Advisory Council to insure goal achievement of the K-12 Comprehensive Guidance Plan.Recommend updates and appropriate changes as an annual basis to the Superintendent and school board. Requirements:Interested candidates must possess either New York State School District Leader (SDL) and/or New York State School Administrator (SDA) certification, and have experience as a School Administrator, and Guidance Counselor.
