Candidates must possess strong leadership skills to foster a school climate that is supportive of excellent teaching and high expectations, as well as extensive knowledge and experience with the Common Core and New York State learning standards, proficiency in technology and the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students and parents. Additionally, the successful applicant will ensure that students with disabilities are provided a supportive and nurturing atmosphere and are held to high standards of achievement.Qualifications:Deep understanding of middle level education;Outstanding knowledge and skills in the supervision of instruction;Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;Commitment to building and strengthening relationships with colleagues, students, parents and the community at-large.Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law ยงยง305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES). The Commissioner of Education carries out these responsibilities through the New York State Education Department's Office of School Personnel Review and Accountability (OSPRA). Copy of appropriate New York State Certification must be submitted with a resume. Salary will be competitive within the region and commensurate with experience.
