Monitor to serve as a 1:1 bus attendant for a high school student with disabilities for the dismissal bus run. Responsibilities include supporting the student safely getting on the bus, riding the bus, and departing the bus. Hours: 2:20 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. (end time is when the school bus returns to the High School)Requirements: Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position, required physical performance testing per NY Department of Education regulations. Attend all required training including pre-service and bi-annual in-service training. Ability to work effectively with secondary school children. Ability to remain patient and caring with children. Ability to establish good working relationships with students, parents and school personnel. Ability to take oral and written directives. Salary: Range starts at $17.45/hourPREREQUISITE:Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law §§305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES). The Commissioner of Education carries out these responsibilities through the New York State Education Department's Office of School Personnel Review and Accountability (OSPRA).
