Anticipated: Teacher Substitute (Daily)GENERAL STATEMENTOF JOB: The Substitute Teacher is responsible for maintaining continuity of instruction in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The substitute ensures a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment while implementing lesson plans and maintaining classroom expectations consistent with program standards.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Daily per Diem: Certified $135, Non-Certified $125 REPORTS TO: Principal or designee. SUPERVISES: N/A QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES: • Appropriate NYS Certification required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLSAND ABILITIESDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Perform substitute-teaching duties as required. The roles, responsibilities and expectation that are set forth are typical of a day in a classroom.• Follow lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular teacher• Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom environment• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, and assigned areas• Implement behavioral and safety procedures consistent with program guidelines• Support students with diverse academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs• Communicate relevant classroom information to the supervising administrator• Document attendance, incidents, and instructional progress as required• Collaborate with classroom aides, teaching assistants, and support staff• Maintain confidentiality of student and program information• Uphold professional conduct consistent with agency policies and code of conduct EVALUATION: Principal or designee.
