Anticipated Vacancy:Assistant Principal of Career and Technical Institute (1.0 FTE)LOCATION: CTI DUTIES:Provide leadership and supervision to Career and Technical Education programs at Dutchess BOCES.Exercise sound judgment and appropriate discretion in the administration of professional duties.Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of curriculum development and program evaluation, child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning.Oversee the provision of special education services and supports to CTI students with IEPs.Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of laws and regulations related to student discipline.Evaluate assigned personnel for the purpose of ensuring that standards are achieved and performance is maximized.Facilitate communication between personnel, students and/or parents for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems and/or resolving conflicts.Implement policies, procedures and/or processes for the purpose of providing direction and/or complying with mandated requirements.Intervene in occurrences of inappropriate behavior of students for the purpose of assisting students in modifying such behavior and developing successful interpersonal skills.Manage a variety of school administrative functions (e.g. student disciplinary policy, school schedule, assigned personnel, arrivals/departures etc.) for the purpose of enforcing school, district and state policy and maintaining safety and efficiency of school operations.Participate in meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.Work with other administrators and participate in the recruitment, orientation and induction, mentoring, and evaluation of faculty and support staff assigned to the Career and Technical Education division.Serve as the Summer School PrincipalPerform other administrative and/or supervisory duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS: NYS certification as a School Building Leader is required. NYS Certification in a Secondary Education title is required Career and Technical field preferred.Minimum of three years of successful leadership experience in the area ofSecondary Education and/or Special Education is required,Career and Technical preferredSuccessful record of service as high school teacher is required.Strong communication, problem solving, and human relation skills.GRADE LEVEL: SecondaryTENATIVE STARTING DATE: December 8, 2023
