Anticipated Vacancy: Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher: Early Childhood EducationGENERAL STATEMENTOF JOB:Dutchess BOCES Career and Technical Institute seeks a highly motivated and qualified Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher specializing in Early Childhood Education (ECE) and develop a Teaching Assistant Pathway to Certification. This position is responsible for teaching secondary students a rigorous, industry-aligned curriculum that prepares them for post-secondary education and careers in the ECE field. The curriculum must be closely aligned with the Council for Professional Recognition's Child Development Associate (CDA) credential standards, culminating in students being prepared to pursue the CDA credential upon graduation. The teacher will manage on and off-site clinical experiences where students gain hands-on experience working with students. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: • Full-time, 10-month, tenure track assignment.• Competitive salary; negotiable based on qualifications and experience, per CBA. • Full complement of health benefitsREPORTS TO: Principal or designee. SUPERVISES: N/A QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES: • Hold or be eligible to receive appropriate NYS Teaching Certification. • Preferred experience as a Lead Teacher, Assistant Director or Director in an Early Childhood Educational setting is required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLSAND ABILITIESDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Expert-level knowledge of child development principles, curriculum planning, and developmentally appropriate practices for children from birth through age eight.• Ability to translate complex industry standards (CDA) into engaging and effective high school level instruction.• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.• Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, administrators, and industry partners.EVALUATION: Principal or designee.
