Anticipated VacancyLibrary Media SpecialistTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: .6 FTE, 12-month, assignment.Competitive salary; negotiable based on qualifications and experience.Full complement of health benefits REPORTS TO: Coordinator of Library Services SUPERVISES: NA QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES: State Certification as a Librarian or Library/Media Specialist or as required for positions.Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.Masters Degree preferred. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Knowledge of engaging school library media centers.Ability to establish effective working relationships with district personnel.Effective staff trainer and familiar with adult learning theories.Experience with library automation systems.Familiar with LibguidesComfortable using instructional technology.Familiar with web-editing and creating electronic resources and multimedia.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the School Library System’s centrally maintained database and library automation system. Provide support and training for the library automation service, SORA eBook collection, and online databases; cataloging; create LibGuides, curate resources to support curricula, facilitate Interlibrary Loan requests, and other duties as needed.Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. EVALUATION: The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of the School Library System Coordinator.
