Anticipated VacancyINTERIM SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR (1.0) FTELOCATION: VariousTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Temporary Full-time, Interim building-level administrative assignmentCompetitive salary; negotiable based on qualifications and experienceFull complement of health benefitsQUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:NYS certification as a School Building Leader is required.NYS Teaching CertificationMinimum of three years of successful leadership experience in the area of Special Education is required Successful record of service as high school teacher is required.Strong communication, problem solving, and human relation skillsDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Interim Administrator will:Provide leadership and managerial oversight of instructional programs and school operations to ensure a school climate that fosters the educational development of each studentExercise sound judgment and appropriate discretion in the administration of professional dutiesDemonstrate an understanding of the regulations regarding the operations of a high schoolDemonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabularyDemonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management information retrieval, visual and audio presentationsJOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Interim Administrator will:Assume responsibility for the management of the school in accordance with law, administrative code, Board policies, and regulationsExercise leadership in school-level planning for improvement of instruction. Involve staff, students, and parents in the development of school plans to achieve student performance objectives, curriculum content standards and core course proficienciesEstablish and maintain an effective learning climate in the schoolConduct observations of teaching staff members, prepare written comments and offer constructive suggestions for improvement when appropriateEnsure the safekeeping of student and personnel files and other confidential records and documents and the destruction of public records in accordance with law and regulationsProtect confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties and use discretion in sharing such information within legal confinesPrepare or supervise the preparation of all reports, records and other paperwork required or appropriate to the school’s administration.Conduct staff meetings as necessary for the proper functioning of the schoolConduct CSE meetingsConduct and support the agency intake process for Special EducationPlan and supervise regularly scheduled parent/teacher conferences and make arrangements for special conferences as necessaryMaintain positive, cooperative, and mutually supportive relationships with the administration, instructional staff, students, parents, and representatives of resource agencies within the communityPlan and facilitate faculty/staff meetings and serve, as appropriate, on Agency committeesContinue to grow professionally through collaboration with colleagues and professional growth experiencesPerform any duties that are within the scope of employment and certifications, as assigned and not otherwise prohibited by law or regulationAdhere to New York school law, State Board of Trustees’ rules and regulations, Board of Trustees’ policies and regulations, school regulations and procedures, and contractual obligationsPerform other related duties as may be assigned by the Deputy Superintendent/ District Superintendent.STARTING DATE: September 6, 2022
