Dover Middle School is seeking a dedicated, student-centered Special Education Teacher to join our collaborative team. This role is designed for an educator who thrives in diverse instructional settings, ranging from co-teaching in Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classrooms to providing targeted intervention in a Resource Room environment. Key Responsibilities Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT): Partner with general education teachers to co-plan and co-deliver instruction. Ensure that students with disabilities have full access to the grade-level curriculum through intentional modifications and accommodations. Resource Room Instruction: Provide small-group supplemental instruction focused on individual IEP goals, executive functioning, and specialized academic skill-building. IEP Development & Management: Act as a Case Manager for a designated caseload. This includes drafting high-quality Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), tracking progress on goals, and contributing to CSE (Committee on Special Education) meetings. Academic Testing: Administer, score, and interpret standardized academic achievement tests for initial evaluations and three-year re-evaluations. Qualifications Certification: Valid New York State Certification in Special Education (Grades k-12, 7–12 or 5–9 ).
