Position: Social Worker (Full-time): The School Social Worker is responsible for supporting students and advocating for their social, emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing. They will provide targeted counseling support to individuals and groups. The school social worker will collaborate with staff, families, and community based resources to help prepare students to go into the world well prepared.Start Date and Salary: As soon as possible. Per the DTA Contract.Qualifications: * NYS School Social Worker Certification* NYS LMSW, LCSW or LCSW-R License* Preferred: Experience with children with special needs, including ASD, group and individual counseling, FBA/BIP, work with educational teams, including related service providers.Roles and Responsibilities:* The ability to work with all age levels (pre-k through 12th grade).* Provide group and individual counseling support to the general population.* Work to maximize coping skills for students in difficult situations.* Provide IEP-mandated counseling services. Progress monitoring responsibilities.* Medicaid billing as appropriate.* Provide tier one social and emotional learning development opportunities.* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary group of staff to support student needs.* Assist in the completion, monitoring, and evaluation of functional behavioralassessments and behavioral intervention plans.* Offer suggestions and support for teachers and other school personnel.* Participating in CPSE/CSE meetings as required.* Serve as Liaison with community and state service agencies: Provide communityresources to parents/guardians as needed. Coordinate and/or collaborate with a range of individuals/agencies to promote and provide comprehensive services to students and families.
