The Dobbs Ferry School District has an anticipated vacancy for a Special Education Teacher at the Dobbs Ferry Middle School, effective August 27, 2025. This is a full time, probationary/tenure track position.Requirements: NY State Certification: Special Education K-12 or Students with Disabilities (All Grades), or Students with Disabilities Grades 5-9 required.Description: The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to engage in various instructional models including consultant teacher services, integrated co-teaching, Special Class (15:1) and Resource Room. This candidate will work in partnership with their general education colleagues with the shared goal of improving our curriculum and instruction in literacy instruction and our new mathematics curriculum, Illustrative Math, for all students to access. Proven experience with administering and interpreting standardized educational evaluations, developing and implementing accommodations and modifications within a general education setting, skills in developing IEPs with student-specific goals and data-driven progress monitoring. Assists teaching staff in implementing IEPs and behavior management plans. Experience with Orton-Gillingham, Wilson and/or any other phonics-based reading program desired, but not required.Compensation: Commensurate with experience and on par with the Dobbs Ferry United Teachers Contract.
