The Dobbs Ferry School District seeks highly motivated, creative and dedicated grades K-12 Teaching Assistants to join our Special Education department effective October 2023. Full time, tenure-track. Minimum Requirement: NYSED Level I Teaching Assistant certification. The successful candidate has a passion for working with children of all ages. Description: As per NYSED teaching assistants provide instructional services to students under general supervision of a certified teacher. These position require working with individual or multiple students with special needs, and may include performing toileting/hygiene tasks in support of students with IEP or 504 plan. Duties may vary depending upon students specific needs. The successful candidate will lead or assist in various activities, aid in the development of educational material, and perform other related duties as assigned.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit; is regularly required to climb, squat, stop, kneel, crouch or crawl; to reach above the head and reach forward; is regularly required to use hands and fingers to feel or handle objects, tools, or controls, and to talk and hear; is occasionally required to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds.Compensation: Terms of employment are in accordance with the Dobbs Ferry UFSD Clerical, Teaching Assistant/Teacher Aide Unit. Starting annual salary range: $24,792 - $31,975. An additional annual stipend of $3,843 for toileting duties.
