The Dobbs Ferry School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Bilingual Instructional Support Specialist/CPSE-CSE Chairperson. This position will provide support and coordination for the district-wide CSE functions. This is a full-time tenure track position effective approximately November 27, 2024. Requirements: Candidates must possess NYSED certification in Special Education or a Related Service (e.g., Speech/Language, School Psychologist) with a Bilingual Extension- Spanish Speaking. Professional Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with legal requirements, including IDEA regulations and NYSED Part 200 & 201.Conduct bilingual evaluations within your discipline.Provide translation services for meetings and documents as needed to ensure clear communication with bilingual families and stakeholders.Facilitate meetings for the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) and the Committee on Special Education (CSE).Coordinate district-wide bilingual evaluations with external providers and agencies.Develop and implement the Language Proficiency Team (LPT).Make programming decisions that ensure students are educated in the least restrictive environment.Manage all CPSE/CSE functions, including referrals, Board of Education recommendations, placements, programming, and funding, ensuring alignment with required timelines.Collaborate with special education and related service staff to provide high-quality services in accordance with each student’s IEP.Implement Board of Education policies and oversee rules and regulations related to special education.Support families and providers through ongoing communication and guidance.Assist in planning and delivering staff development and in-service training related to CPSE/CSE responsibilities.Monitor and support providers in writing, developing, and implementing IEPs.Conduct staff meetings as necessary to ensure effective IEP implementation.Collaborate with special education administrators, principals, and assistant principals.Demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills to work effectively with all stakeholders.Complete other duties as assigned by the Director and Assistant Director of Special Education. Qualifications:Minimum of five years of experience in special education.Experience chairing CPSE/CSE meetings.Strong knowledge of IDEA, New York State regulations, and expertise in supporting students with diverse needs. Compensation: Commensurate with experience and on par with the Dobbs Ferry United Teachers Contract.
