The Delaware Academy Central School District at Delhi seeks a highly qualified candidate to fill the following:Position: Science Teacher – Grade 6 (Full time probationary position)Start Date: September 1, 2023Salary: As per DAFA contract, based on experience Qualifications:NYS Teaching Certification in Elementary Education 1-6 (Middle Science or Science Generalist certification 5-9 preferred)Models a vision for preparing future-ready studentsStrong collaboration, organizational, written and communication skillsStrong student engagement and classroom management skillsKnowledge of current research, best practices, assessment, and instructional models in the field Desired Characteristics, Responsibilities, and Duties:Implement middle school science curriculum, aligned with current NYS Learning StandardsWork collaboratively with inter- and cross-departmental peers to implement contentImplement student-centered practices in assessment of student growth, grading, and reportingMaintain communication and engagement with parents/guardians in a timely fashion regarding individual student progress, celebrations, and reporting of concernsImplement differentiated models of instruction to meet the needs of a variety of learners, including students in need of modifications and accommodationsCommitment to professional development, teamwork, and innovation in the fieldPerforms other duties as assigned by the building principal or Superintendent of SchoolsReports to: Middle School Principal
