Qualifications:NYSED certification in Special Education in one of the following areas:NYSED Students with Disabilities Birth - 2nd gradeNYSED Permanent Special EducationKnowledge of Early Intervention Regulations preferredExperience working with young children with disabilities preferredGood interpersonal, communication and organizational skillsResponsibilities:Evaluate, assess and screen students using appropriate standardized testing and clinical observational skillsResponsible for the implementation of a child’s IFSP and progress towards goalsDemonstrate the knowledge and ability to implement the curriculum utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior AnalysisDemonstrate the knowledge and ability to effectively manage classroom behaviors and implement Behavior Intervention PlansProvide required documentation for EI services that your program and/or supervisor have outlined for youDemonstrate ability to collect data and maintain documentation in a professional, efficient, accountable and confidential mannerSupervise children during classroom activitiesDemonstrate the ability to effectively manage the assigned classroom staffAttend all meetings as scheduled and collaborate with other professionals, staff and familiesResponsible for the maintenance of classroom materials and suppliesMaintain and update professional knowledge, skills and abilities through appropriate education, inservice training or higher educationOther duties as assigned Essential Physical Demands:Must be able to modify the area to secure the safety of childrenAbility to move/transport a child weighing up to 30 pounds to a height of 3 feet to place child on changing tableMust be able to move quickly after a child up to 200 feet to prevent elopementMust be able to grasp, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and twistMust be able to get up and down from the floorMust have ability to follow oral and written directions and detect/respond to fire alarmsMust be able to ascend and descend stairs with railing
