Developmental Disabilities Institute, DDI, is one of the largest providers of care to children and adults with Autism, developmental disabilities and other special needs. DDI has been a part of Long Island for over 50 years serving over 1,500 children and adults with Autism, other developmental disabilities and special needs. DDI provides innovative and expansive services to our population through various educational settings, residential services, day habilitation programs and vocational services.Speech Pathologist's in the Children’s Day Program are creative, energetic, career oriented teaching professionals who are motivated to educate individuals with developmental disabilities in an ungraded classroom setting. Speech Pathologist's are offered on-going trainings and support provided by board certified behavior analysts and other qualified professionals to enhance and maximize career growth. Our school programs operate on a 12 month calendar and include 9 weeks of scheduled vacation during the year. See full job description for qualifications and responsibilities.Per diem position - $54.92/hrHours flexible for up to 23 hours/weekQualifications: Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology NYSED licensure in Speech/Language Pathology TSHH/TSSLD certification Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills Responsibilities: Provide speech/language therapy according to the mandated paperwork (i.e., IEP’s, IFSP etc.) Provide required documentation for services in alignment with protocols of the Children’s Day Program. Complete required documentation for services as outlined by Federal, State and County Regulations. Maintain documentation in a professional, efficient, accountable, and confidential manner. Essential Physical Demands: Must be able to modify the area to secure the safety of the children i.e., move/push tables and other heavy objects up to 20 lbs. Must be able to lift/move 20 lbs.
