TITLE: New Vision Law and Government Teacher LOCATION: SUNY Morrisville Campus in Norwich, NY REPORTS TO: Principal TERMS: Full-time / Part time QUALIFICATIONS: Students learn through in person in real-world legal settings, collage level course work and project-based learning. This is an exciting employment opportunity for a person with the appropriate education and background. NYS Teacher Certification in Social Studies or another appropriate area is required. Previous successful high school teaching experience is preferred. Extensive knowledge, skills and professional experience in law, government criminal justice or public policy. Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff and community partners. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Selected candidate will be responsible for delivery of instruction and supervise and mentor students in internships/experiences at court, government agencies, law offices and legislative offices, coordinate guest speakers, field trips and special projects. Maintain relationships with local partners; courts, legislatives and non-profit. SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary and generous benefits and leave benefits based on the BOCES Teachers’ Association (BTA) contract.
